This is another song that was written at Panda in January. It started with just a bass line and drums. It felt a little stale for a while so I added some modulating synths to bring in a “psychedelic” kind of feel and it took it to another place. A big breakthrough on this one was when I wrote the bridge. I felt like there weren’t enough guitars in the song and I kept saying I wanted the bridge to feel guitars in a stadium. I had most of the drums programmed for the bridge, but once I dialed in the exact drums with Sam it went to a whole different level. I’m super proud of this one. It’s definitely the song I’d show strangers if I was forced to at a party.
lyrics
I’m not swimmin in the money
but at least I’m sleepin every night
why does life get so boring?
& does it ever start to feel right?
am I too proud to say I’m sorry? my empathy hides in disguise
so sometimes i just force a smile so I can escape
I can get out instead of try
so I’ll just bottle it up
save it for a night on the weekend when i can’t get enough
cut flowers down to the stems
we can spiral all the way down then pull each other back to life so I’ll just bottle it up
save it for a night on the weekend
but I kinda like it in a low key siamese arms in a fight
we only know where the beat is when we tap our feet on time
don’t expect that you’ll find it ever again if you stop
they say it’s all about the rhythm but i’m everywhere that it’s not

One of my favorite albums of all time. Turnover really hit a sound here that resonates with me deeply, and I often find myself coming back to this record and falling in love with it all over again. The drums and bass are greatly underrated on this album, creating their own unique melodies that fit within the song and create something new rather than just follow the guitars. Nothing beats the somehow joyful and somber sound of this record. Rob Carpenter
Sludge, Shoegaze, Atmospheric, Heavy Metal, Alt-metal, you name it. This album has it all, and it is perfect. It came out during a rough time period of my life and others lives too. It's been the soundtrack for all of my pain. Thank you Hum tawper
They come right out of the gate with the first three tracks. I love this album and it headbanger qualities. Changing Lanes is a nice stripped down song in the center of the tracklist and slows it all down before the record gradually picks up speed again.
The closing song is one of their best ballads/songs. The cello and tone sends me straight back to the 90's.
Staying on par with the previous record was a tough act to follow and they managed it flawlessly in my opinion. stargazing robot
